...when it just doesn't want to ..

I have spend hours on this image of 3 wooden towers. 20some versions and it still doesn't do what i want to see.

for starters i want to make a 18x24 ratio, probably to restrictive setting the dimensions before the work is done. second the natural wood is not very flexible in color and hue and finally the natural light was flat.
i should just leave it now, ...maybe.
